July n Juice...

Kia ora koutou

Day One!  For a little while now, my love and I have been pondering the idea of doing the juice 'reboot' diet ...oh my gosh, I can tell you this - get ready to do a lot of wee's, lol.  The juice recipes are not bad, think I can handle it for awhile (I hope).  Will keep you updated, watch this space!

School holidays usually means I'm at home with the boys and sadly no card classes for two weeks.  During this time; I have been able to design and prepare cards for classes two weeks in advance, support an amazing friend Tammy with her wonderful donation of beautiful albums she made, we (a lucky group of us) were given the fantastic job of decorating the albums with gorgeous papers and embellishments also supplied by Tammy. I was able to bag and tag some crafting stuff  to sell in The Paper Peacock's Garage Sale, make a gift box set of cards to donate to the 'Make A Wish' raffle, make a gift box set of cards for a wonderful, amazing lady Maureen - her 60th birthday, and make a set of cards for The Paper Peacock shop - showcasing the beautiful Tilda 12x12 paper pack called 'Sewing Bird'.

Monday Class

Frames and Stamps

The black frame is made from folded card - I followed a tutorial in Splitcoast Stampers by Birgit Edblom, she makes amazing, beautiful cards; here is the link to her tutorial Simple Frame.  I altered the frame a little :)

Cut 1 at: 3" x 6" and 1 at: 3 1/2" x 6". The inside of your finished frame will measure 3"x 3"
Score both pieces 1/4" increments starting at: 3/4", 1", 1 1/4", 1 1/2", 4 1/2", 4 3/4", 5", 5 1/4"

Tilda - Sewing Bird

I made this set of pretty cards  and card gift box from the beautiful 12"x12" Tilda paper pack called Sewing Bird.  I will put up the tutorial for the card gift box on my next post.

Pion - Grandma's School Book

'One Page Wonder' - these five wonderful children images were on one 12"x12" sheet of the lovely Pion paper called Grandma's School Book.  I enhanced the images with a couple of stamps coloured in with markers and added the die-cut picket fence, beautiful wings embosslits butterfly and a little greeting sign hanging off the fence.

Side-step Easel Card

I used Pion paper - Grandma's School Book.  I will put up a tutorial in the next post :)

I Can't Stop Ticking-The-Tock...

Kia ora koutou

....Time!  Ever get that feeling; there's not enough time in the day to do all the things need doing?  Even after prioritising and planning by the minute...  I was told some good advice - "One thing at a time", so when ever I start to panic about things piling up around me I say to myself, "one thing at a time, relax, is it that important?"

These past couple of weeks have been using up every grain of sand in the hour glass, sheeeshh - it has been challenging, but if you didn't know something about me already, that is; I love challenges :)

Monday Card Class

Pretty Pop-up

This lovely pop-up card folds flat so that you can pop it in the post :)  I followed a very good tutorial:  Dawn's Pop-up Card
I used Liquid Pearls and Kindyglitz in the centers of the flowers - beautiful way to make them 'pop'.

Card Candy

For those of you unfamiliar with the term 'card candy' it is a delectable, cool name for - card toppers/card embellishments...you supply the base card and attach the card candy to the front, voile! a beautiful card.  I was introduced to this fantastic idea through my wonderful, creative Australian friends - Paper Angels.  Have you ever needed a card that was ready to go for any occassion?  Card candy is the solution!!! :)

Stencils and Primary Elements

OMG - glimmer mist, stencils, silver embossing, choice die-cut shapes and washi tape combined = funtastic, cool, 'pretty grunge' love this style!

Spritz, Splotch, Smoosh - Stencil Magic

What a ball! I had such a blast creating these cards, I hope the ladies had fun making them :)

A Little Thankyou

I am forever grateful to my Stampin' Up! customer's - thank you.  Loving Stampin' Up!'s washi tape and In Colours - Coastal Cabana, Strawberry Slush, so scrumpdillyumptious.

....Whats coming up

Well, as usual I have put my hand up, bitten off a bit more than I can chew, oh well.  So I have a few deadlines to meet - marketing assignment due, design a swap card (design a card then make 10 kits of the card to teach and swap with fellow colleagues, gahhhhh), design alternating scrapbook layouts and cards for a competition I have entered called ABC Summer Crop 2013 (held by My Sketch World) each project represents the letter of the alphabet, design and create cards for my monday class, make a farewell card...very challenging!  Pics will be up soon - watch this space :)

Thank you for visiting my post, please come by again :)

P.S.  - If you're wondering what the heck the post title is?  It is a line from one of my favourite songs of Kylie  Minogue's - Giving You Up
