Constant Craving...

Kia ora koutou

...Day 29, O.M.G! Can hardly believe, only ONE day left of 'juice reboot diet'.  I have dropped 9.5 kg and still going.  My skin feels and looks great, I no longer have a bloated stomach and horrible indigestion and my fat clothes are starting to hang off me.  I now know, my body definitely needed this detox - Day 31 will be the beginning of clean eating for my whanau and I, can't wait...hence my post title - constant craving :)

Monday Card Class

Yesterday class cards we used a wonderful double-sided paper from Africa called - FabScrap, lots of beautiful designs.
It's amazing what simple embossing can do!  I used an embossing folder with grungy lines - it gave the beach-scene background movement and texture :)

Card Gift Box - Tutorial

This gift box fits 6" x 4" cards or photo's :)
Card: 2 x 12"x12" medium to heavy card ( I used Bassill - Mauvice), 1 x 12"x12" designer paper (I used Kaisercraft - Enchanted Garden).
Accessories:  Nesting dies (I used Framelit Labels Collection), Acetate (for the window), Ribbon, Kindyglitz, dimensionals, double-sided tape (red & white), card trimmer, scoring tool, scissors.

1. Box bottom.

2. Box lid.
3. Lid cover.

4. Inside lid (lid lining)

5. Acetate window.

6 & 7.  Construct box bottom.
8.  Cut window out using 3rd and 4th largest nesting dies.  Place your 3rd largest die (larger of the two) where you would like your window to be on the lid cover and cut.
8.

9. Line-up the lid cover (right-side up) on the lid.  Trace around the inside edge of the cut out window onto the lid.  Center the 4th largest die (smaller of the two) on lid, fold one side-flap over for the lid to fit through the Big Shot and cut (it's alright if the side-flap folds over the top of the die and gets an impression of the die, it will go when you border punch the sides.  Erase pencil marks.
10.  Flip the lid over (wrong side facing up), line-up the lid lining, hold it in place and flip back over to trace the window, then cut out with the 4th largest die.
Now you should have:  Lid Cover - window cut out, Lid and Lid Lining - slightly smaller window cut out.

11.  Attach acetate covering across the window cutout on the inside of the lid.
12.  Attach the lid lining - matching the windows.

13.  Border punch all sides of the Lid Cover and Lid, cut off corners, apply adhesive (I used red double-sided tape) then make the Lid and Lid Cover.
14.  Attach the Lid Cover to the Lid

14.  Workout where you want to place your greeting label - you want the ribbon to wrap around the box and tie in a knot just below or above the greeting label.  When you are happy with placement, adhere the greeting label to the ribbon and then adhere the label to the box.  Wrap the ribbon around loosely and tie a knot, tidy the ribbon by trimming the ends.  I embellished the box lid applying Kindyglitz to the bird images.
Yay, a completed beautiful card gift box :)
