Unpause, Time To Get A Into G....

Kia ora koutou

...Yes, a lot has happened since my blog 'hiatus' - made a bespoke birthday cake for my son Bronson's 5th birthday, completed 100 invitations for a 21st (what a mish), decorating progressive album pages, finishing the embellishment of my daughter's album, a bit of sewing....and, I now have made the commitment to a healthier, lighter, stronger me - exciting!  :)

Baby Blues

On 22nd February a powerful earthquake magnitude of 6.3, struck Canterbury three years ago - changing Christchurch (my home) forever.
Same date five years ago, my fourth and last baby was born at the Royal Brisbane Women's Hospital, Australia.  No longer a baby, now he's an adorable, shy, cute, schoolboy.
I can't believe how the time has flown by....

Bronson's graduation photo from Northcote Kindergarten.

Bronson requested a chocolate monster truck birthday cake, lol.  Lucky his mum (moi) is the arty-farty creative type :)

Labour of Love

My niece Hania asked me if I could make 21st invitations for her besty Junea - they found an invitation style they really liked from Pinterest, a wedding invitation created by SDezigns.
I altered the style ever so slightly, to suit Junea's specifications and to bring costs down - when it comes to whanau, I only charge for materials used, it's a labour of love  :)

A Bit Of Sewing

I mentioned in my last post 'enjoy the journey' how I was inspired by my friend Shane to dust off my sewing machine and start sewing again....Well I did!....and, I organised a sewing group.
We get together on a Thursday evening fortnightly (second and fourth Thursday of the month) and we bring along our own sewing projects.  I look forward to my fortnightly Thursday evenings.  I love seeing what the ladies bring along - such a variety, a sewing spectrum palaver; sewing crafts, dressmaking, quilting, alterations etc...And the fabrics, oh my gosh, it is soooooo inspirational! Really gets the creative juices flowing and rejuvenates your sewing mojo!

Anyhoo, here is a couple of my sewing projects. (Picture quality not the best).

I purchased the Butterick's pattern from my favourite fabric shop - Fabric Vision.  I did have to make a few alterations to the pattern - not using the recommended knit/stretch fabric, meant I had to add a zip, and I altered the length so the hem finished above the knee, thus suiting moi  ;)

To go with my dress, I made a bag :)  I found the tutorial through Pinterest in a blog called - Morning By Morning Productions, here's the link:  Satin Sash Bag
You must check it out - you will be blown away how easy it is to make :)

When I saw the fabric - oh my gosh! A lovely light-weight textured black PVC inlaid with beautiful black lace, I couldn't believe my eyes - so perfect for this bag.

Up-cycle a Men's Shirt into this!

The shirt I used was size medium, yielding a small apron, I recommend using at least large +
I found the brilliant idea on The WHOot, here's the link:  Men's Shirt Apron

....Geez Louise <3

My daughter Louise is....'leaving on a jet plane, don't know when she'll be back again....She's off back to the Gold Coast to chase her dreams.
Follow your heart beautiful girl - the things you are passionate about are not random, they are your calling! (Fabienne Fredrickson).

So, the race is on for me to finish the album/journal I have made for her.  I have embellished the front using charms given to me by my dad's thoughtful cousin Te Here Here and her daughter Crystal (they know I'm an arty-farty type and thought I could use them in my crafting)...good thinking 99!
When Louise was little, her nanny and I would call her Louigi, then from that name evolved we-ge, hence the nickname Wege :)  <3

....Unpause, yes it's time to get my arse into gear and move forward.  I have set some goals and am committed to achieving them.  One of my goals is to live healthier, be stronger, love myself.  I have tried to do it with my own will power and the support of my husband, but have failed...so, I decided (with the support of my husband) to join Curves Complete - it has been amazing, I know that I am going to enjoy the journey...Watch this space!!!

Thank you for having a squizz, come again to see more BCH crafting and sewing :)
